Rosemary oil? It’s a new vocab for me. What kind of rose is it? Is there any relationship between this oil with Mary? Googling for a while, I’ve got lot of information bout this essential oil. The name Rosemary derives from the Latin name rosmarinus, which literally means “dew of the sea” and has no relationship with the rose and Mary. Rosemary oil is one of the top ten essential oils in The “A World of Aromatherapy” Top Ten List. Generally, this essential oil is extracted or steam distilled from the leaves of Rosmarinus officinalis, a woody perennial herb. Rosemary oil can be used to strengthen the entire body and heal important organs such as liver and heart. Rosemary oil is useful for physical and mental fatigue, forgetfulness, respiratory problems, asthma, rheumatic aches and pains. But a large amount of rosemary may cause coma, spasm, vomiting, and pulmonary edema that can be fatal.
